One Month!

Today, Mason is one month old!  It is so hard to believe that we have been a family for an entire month.  Time has literally flown by and we've been enjoying every minute of it!  Here are a few of his milestones:

Stats:  At his one month doctor appointment, Mason weighed eight pounds and 14 ounces, was 20 1/4" long and had a head circumference of 14".

Eating:  He is eating three ounces of formula about every three hours -- sometimes a little less and sometimes a little more.  We had to switch him to the sensitive stomach formula and he seems to be doing pretty good now.

Sleeping:  He sleeps well at night, only getting up to eat.  He usually takes a bottle around 5:00 and then goes back to sleep until 7:00 or 7:30 a.m.  He has a decent awake period in the morning and another one mid-afternoon.  We typically try to put him down for the night around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m.

Activity:  He likes to sit in his bouncy seat or hang out in his swing -- he likes to be on the move!  He has started tracking our voices and focusing on things like the ceiling fan or the bathroom lights.  He enjoys tummy time for about five minutes before he starts to cry or fall asleep.  He enjoys car rides and generally falls asleep.

Characteristics:  Mason has the cutest expressions!  He often raises his eye brows and wrinkles his forehead as if he's questioning us.  He also purses his mouth and smacks his lips when he's ready to eat.  As he's waking up he stretches his arms up high and arches his back and will twist his face all around.  When he's alert, he looks around with the biggest eyes taking in the scenery.

Events:  We had two baby showers with family and friends where we were blessed with so many gifts and well wishes.  It was so fun to introduce Mason to the special people in our lives.  Mason's first official outing was to Target with me and my mom.  Since then, he's been to the grocery store, out to lunch with a few friends, made a visit to Hobby Lobby, a couple of Babies R Us stops and to the garden center.  He has gotten a lot of use out of his sweet stroller!

Mason has brought so much joy to Brandon and I this past month.  It is so cool to see so many prayers answered and to be living out God's will.  Mason is a very special boy that God chose to bless and we pray God can use him in very special ways as he grows up.
