Memory Loss

Since I got out of college, I feel like my memory is slipping. It seemed in college, that I could remember everything without writing anything down. I knew where I was supposed to be, what I was to be doing, what I was to bring, etc. (with the exception of leaving my personal items all over the state - yes, my mom did have to mail me my entire cosmetic bag that I left at her house one time). I was NEVER a list-maker, NEVER!! However, over the past year or two, I've realized that I have become a list-maker!! I have a notepad at my desk with all of my "To Do's" written down, I have a notepad at home with "To Do's" and I have another notepad for my grocery list. If I don't write something down, more than likely, it doesn't get done. Case in point - we purchased a little pink mower for Lauren for her birthday. Unfortunately, the bubble blower didn't work. Natalie asked that I mail the receipt so she could take it back. I said "Sure, I'll get it in the mail when we get home". Well, that was July 29th. I still have the receipt. While my sister-in-law has been very patient with me, I feel horrible!! Also, on Monday I was told I needed to purchase a few things for a work project. I thought to myself, "Well, that is great! I have to go to the store tonight anyway, I'll just pick it up while I'm there and not waste my gas running into town now". It didn't make my list. I was in Derby over my lunch hour yesterday, picking up the items. I even attach sticky notes to my wallet that says things like "Pick up prescription", "Deposit check", etc. Currently, the sticky note says "Mail receipt to Natalie".

Let me tell you...it doesn't get any better. I'm surprised I don't have to write myself notes like "Brush Your Teeth", "Eat Lunch", "Buy More Cabbage".

Oh, and no hurry on the receipt, I'm sure Mattel will be recalling the mower soon anyway ;)
