Weekend in Review

We had a great and busy weekend:

Friday night, we went to see The Bucket List. It was a great movie and really made me think about life and how we live it. One funny story -- We decided to skip dinner so we could eat popcorn and candy at the theatre. So, we wait in line and we get a large drink and a large popcorn (because you get free refills). I got my Milk Duds and Brandon got a hot dog and we go on our merry way, me carrying the popcorn and candy and Brandon carrying the rest. We sat down, and as I was putting my purse on the floor, I leaned up and somehow dumped half of the popcorn on the floor, all over Brandon and in my purse. I started laughing as Brandon was trying to ignore that he was covered in greasy popcorn and that his wife is a fool. Just as I start to clean up, the gentleman next to me says "oops!". Needless to say, I made quite a spectacle! I was just happy we got free refills!

Saturday, we cleaned the house and I mean cleaned!! I've started going to a website called The Fly Lady. The purpose of the site is to teach you how to maintain a clean and organized home, rather than letting it get away from you and having a major cleaning day. So, in my opinion, before we got to the maintaining phase, we had to start with a clean house. So, we split up the chores and had most everything done by 10:30! And, I've kept the kitchen clean all weekend!!

We had lunch at PF Chang's, compliments of my Aunt Donna! We had an idiot for a waitress, but the food was delish and we had some AWESOME banana spring rolls with coconut and pineapple ice cream! Mmmmmmm!!!

After lunch, we went to visit sweet little Rylee Emmons (my cousin's daughter)! She is quite the princess!

That evening, we watched Alaina and the Northwest High School girls take on Maize High. I think Brandon and Laura had more fun teasing each other than they did watching the game. At one point, my foot somehow got used as Laura's weapon!

Sunday morning was busy with our normal church activities. I've started checking in visitors in the children's area. It is fun to see how excited some of these little ones are. Our church just added on brand new children's and youth wings! They are pretty amazing! We also had a wonderful guest speaker. His name was Mark Moore and he was fascinating. Click on his name and it will take you to his website.

We also hosted a Super Bowl Party with our small group, so my afternoon was spent cooking (and NOT cleaning, since I'm "maintaining"). We provided the chili and everyone else brought the snacks. I intended to take pictures and got caught up in other things and forgot. However, we have plenty of chili and white chicken chili left if anyone wants to come over for leftovers!
