The Weekend

Well, the weekend has come and gone, and it was a great one!  So, here is my weekend review:
  • Friday night we ordered pizza and decided we'd go buy the paint for the basement bedroom and bathroom.  We made a trip to Walmart, with my pillow sham in hand, picked out the paint and took it home.  Brandon prepped the walls, while I watched my recorded episode of "Oprah" (The Gosselins from "Jon and Kate Plus 8" were on).  Then, Brandon decided to go ahead and edge both rooms.  I must admit, I was a little frightened.  The bedroom paint was darker than I anticipated and the bathroom paint was brighter, but we still went with it!  I felt sort of helpless that night.  Brandon doesn't seem to welcome my help with wall prep and such.  Maybe it's because what I did d0 didn't meet his standards??
  • Saturday morning, we woke up and I was grumpy.  I was hungry for a good breakfast, but nothing was sounding good and we didn't have any groceries.  So, we filled up with gas and went to Panera.  It didn't hit the spot, but it was still good.  Then, we drove over to my aunt's new house to help her do a few things.  Her home is BEAUTIFUL!!!  After we helped her out, we all went to lunch at Johnny Carino's.  It was delicious!
  • Once we finally got home, we started painting.  I did get to help with this part.  I was in charge of rolling on the bedroom paint, while Brandon prepped and painted the bathroom.  I think I did a pretty good job!  Brandon is so speedy that he was done with the first coat of the bathroom by the time I finished 2.5 walls in the bedroom.  So, he bailed me out and finished up.
  • We also watched Tucker, my parents' golden retriever, on Saturday.  He is such a funny dog!  I think he was getting a little irritated with Koby jumping in his face, but he endured!
  • Saturday night, we finished up the second coats in both rooms, watched K-State play a miserable game and went to bed.
  • Sunday was our usual church day.  We had a great sermon about how to love others and show God's love.  Then, we went to the store, because I was really dying by this time, picked up a few groceries and came home.  We pulled tape and Brandon painted a THIRD coat on the bathroom (I swear, the previous owners painted with chalk!  The walls were soo dry!!).  I made lunch and by that time, my parents arrived to pick up Tucker.  Mom and I ran to Target, while Dad and Brandon put the bedroom back together and they were on their way.
  • Brandon and I also went to run a few errands after Mom and Dad left.  We ended up going to Petsmart, just to get Koby out of the house.  While we were browsing the toy aisle (Koby got a miniature "long-dog" and a new rubber ball), we heard this LOUD and DEEP bark.  We go to see what it was and it was a HUGE and I mean HUGE Great Dane.  He was black and white and 2 years old.  Koby was scared of him!  It was so funny to see Koby near this dog because he looked soo small.
  • Brandon was a work horse this weekend!  When we got home from our errands, he spread some kind of anti-weed fertilizer on the yard and picked up dog doo.
  • Finally, we spent the evening relaxing.  I guess I cleaned the bathroom up after all of the painting, but that was the least I could do!
Now, today is Monday and an entire weeks is ahead of us.  Brandon will be in Columbia for  2 days and then he leaves to go hunting on Friday and I leave to go visit my dear friend, Megan!  I can't wait!!
